Las cintas que competirán en la próxima edición de los Premios Oscar fueron anunciados por el  actor Chris Hemsworth y la Presidente de la Academia, Cheryl Boone Isaacs. Cuando revisas la enorme lista de filmes, es sorprende saber que Gravity de Alfonso Cuarón compite en 10 categorías, entre ellas Mejor Director y Mejor Película.

En cuanto a música,  William Butler (Arcade Fire) y Owen Pallett compiten en la categoría de Mejor Score con Her, cinta que intenta quedarse con este galardón que  Steven Price pelea con Gravity.  Por otro lado, Her tambén  fue nominada como Mejor Canción Original con “The Moon Song” de  Karen O  (Yeah Yeah Yeah´s) y Spike Jonze, director de esta cinta.
